Citizen Connectivity
Citizen Cincom and other Citizen Swiss-type lathes run on Mitsubishi M700-series controls, and MachineMetrics has a dedicated Citizen M700 adapter built for them. Which adapter you need depends on the control series, so identify that first.
Which Adapter Do You Need?
| Control Type | Adapter to Use | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| M700 Series | Citizen M700 | The dedicated Citizen adapter |
| M850 Series | Mitsubishi M70 | Use the standard M70 adapter |
Unless MachineMetrics support explicitly tells you otherwise. Selecting the wrong adapter is a common cause of alarms and missing data — see Wrong Adapter Type Selected.
If the adapter is not available at all, or you need supplemental signal monitoring, the machine can be connected through I/O integration instead.
Setup Sequence
- Check the firmware — below the minimum version, nothing else will work.
- Configure the control and add the machine — network settings, then the adapter in MachineMetrics.
- Configure part counting — separate from the connection, and different between M700 and M850.
