ERP Connector Setup and Verification

Use this checklist with your ERP's connector guide. The guide supplies the exact permissions, connection settings, and sync behavior for that connector.

1. Confirm the Integration

Confirm your ERP product, version, hosting model, and required job management mode with your Solution Delivery Manager (SDM). Identify the ERP administrator and the person responsible for network access.

For import files or a custom integration instead of a pre-built connector, start with ERP Integration Methods.

2. Prepare ERP Access

  1. Follow the connector guide to create the dedicated ERP account or API application.
  2. Grant the listed read permissions and any write permissions needed for labor reporting.
  3. Confirm the site, company, database, and resource identifiers for this installation.
  4. Verify network access from the physical or virtual Edge device to the ERP and MachineMetrics services. Use the connector guide for ERP-specific destinations and ports, and Network Requirements for Edge connectivity.

Where the guide supports read-only validation, verify inbound data before enabling write-back.

3. Enter Credentials in Edge Services

A customer IT Admin enters credentials directly on the Edge Services screen. Do not send passwords, API keys, client secrets, credential files, or credential-sharing links to MachineMetrics staff.

Use the connection settings in your connector guide. Your SDM can assist with setup without receiving your credentials. When a credential expires or changes, update it in Edge Services.

4. Map Resources and Operators

  1. Confirm imported work orders, resources, and employees in ERP Data Studio.
  2. Configure Record labor as and Schedule jobs as in MES Settings.
  3. Map ERP employees to operators through ERP Data Studio → Persons. You can create a linked MachineMetrics operator there.
  4. Choose the job management and job selection settings appropriate to the connector and machine.

Complete configuration before enabling MES on a machine. Enabling or disabling MES stops active work on that machine, so coordinate with operators. Follow the MES Administrator Guide for rollout steps.

5. Verify the Integration

CheckWhat to verify
Inbound recordsA known work order and its operations appear in ERP Data Studio with the expected identifiers, quantities, and dates.
DispatchThe expected operation appears for the mapped machine. Check Schedule jobs as if it does not.
OperatorThe linked operator can sign in through the Operator View.
LaborRecord a test job using the configured workflow, then check the resulting labor record in both systems.
ERP processingConfirm any exchange-table middleware or ERP posting process completes. Check the connector guide for this separate step.
DiagnosticsReview the ERP Error Log for authentication, permission, mapping, or record errors.

For ERP Driven machines, record the test activity in the ERP and verify that MachineMetrics imports it. For machines managed in ShopPulse, follow the MES operator workflow and the connector's write-back instructions.

Getting Help

Contact your SDM during onboarding or MachineMetrics Support for technical issues after onboarding. Include the ERP product and version, affected work order and operation, timestamps with time zone, and sanitized error messages. Remove credentials from screenshots and log exports.
